📈 Rumors about the upcoming launch of an XRP ETF have shaken the crypto community! After Grayscale's trust announcement, the token's price surged from $0.53 to $0.58, fueling FOMO.

Despite the optimism, there's a risk of correction. Network growth shows demand, but some indicators hint at a potential drop to $0.52.

Sam Bankman-Fried has appealed his fraud conviction and requested a new trial

His lawyer's words:
He did not get a fair trial and the judge handling the case showed bias and obstructed the defence. Federal prosecutors were more interested in high-profile headlines than an objective trial.

The appeal points out that the judge blocked important evidence that could have shown that FTX was not actually insolvent and that the company's assets could have covered customer losses.

Illegal migrant suspected of brutally murdering an entire family — 13WHAM

The gruesome crime happened the day before in Irondequoit - police found a family of four, including two young children, murdered. Law enforcers arrested the suspect - 34-year-old Julio Soriano.

Authorities initially responded to a report of a fire in a house in the city. Firefighters extinguished several fires, but police later said it was an attempt to cover up the murders.

Law enforcement officials are not saying exactly how the family died, but it is known for sure - not as a result of the fire. Detectives are now looking for possible accomplices of the suspect.

Soriano is in the United States illegally. The migrant from the Dominican Republic illegally entered Puerto Rico first, where he was able to obtain a New York ID, so he had no problems entering America.

In his home country, Soriano is wanted for a murder he allegedly committed in 2019.

Springfield mayor acknowledges migrant crisis but assures pets are safe — News Nation

Rob Ryu, the mayor of Springfield, Ohio, said the city does have a problem because of the influx of migrants from Haiti. Only rumors that they eat pets should not be believed.

Donald Trump also spoke about the eating of cats and dogs by migrants during the recent debates. However, Ryu assures that none of this is true: Springfield's pets are perfectly safe.

Rue added that the city has stopped coping with the migration crisis. Local authorities are asking the government for help because their financial resources are running out and the infrastructure is overloaded.

In recent years, 20,000 migrants from Haiti have arrived in the city, while the population of the city itself is only 60,000.

Biden reacts to Putin's threat of war — The Guardian

In a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, journalists asked Joe Biden to comment on Vladimir Putin's claims that allowing Ukraine to hit Russia with long-range Western missiles could trigger a war between Russia and NATO.

"I don't think much of Putin," the US president responded.

There has been no public statement on whether the two leaders have agreed on anything.

Politico reports that Starmer hinted that further discussion of the issue will take place at the UN General Assembly meeting later this month.

Domestic pit bull mauled little girl — FOX28

4-year-old Zoya Hawkins tragically died in her home in Visalia, California. The perpetrator of the horrific tragedy was a pet dog.

The girl's father Eric Hawkins said the toddler was swimming in the pool and he went into the house to get a towel. As soon as the man left, the pit bull attacked the girl coming out of the water and literally gnawed into her armpit.

The man left the house and rushed to his daughter and immediately called an ambulance. Unfortunately, the girl died - most likely from blood loss.

Zoe Pearl Vargas' cousin says the dog had lived in the house for two years. The pit bull and the girl used to play together all the time, so everyone is shocked at what happened.

The dog that attacked Zoya was put to sleep.

High school students give janitor a brand new Jeep — ABC

Students at James Madison (Virginia) High School decided to fulfill the dream of Francis Apraku, the school janitor. The teens raised $20,000 on GoFundMe over the course of a year and bought the man the car he dreamed of - a Jeep Wrangler.

The video shows Francis going crazy with happiness. He couldn't believe what the schoolchildren had done and just rolled around on the asphalt.

Francis immigrated to the United States from Ghana several years ago to help support his family back home. He often told the students that he dreamed of owning a jeep, but that there was no way to buy one.

The students say that Francis is not just a janitor, but a real friend to them, so they decided to help him.

Teenager suspected of killing her mother in cold blood — LAC

39-year-old Katherine Griffith was found the day before with a stab wound to her neck. Police in Hamptons, Florida, suspect her son, 17-year-old Colin Griffith, of the crime.

The teen called 911 himself: he stated that he had an argument with his mother, after which she "fell on the knife". Police arrived and saw the woman's body, as well as her son's - he was calm, cold-blooded and covered in blood.

Criminalists immediately said that the story described by the guy is not believable. Griffith himself, police say, showed no sympathy for his dead mother, only stating, "I know my rights. I need a lawyer."

It turns out that the teen shot and killed his father last year. Griffith claimed at the time that the man had come at him with a knife and that he acted in self-defense.

In 2023, the charges against the teen were dropped because they couldn't prove murder, not self-defense. Griffith now faces life in prison on the charges.
