Nigerian politicians have doubled efforts in distributing branded bags of rice to hundreds and thousands of poor masses, many who find it difficult to eat a meal per day. More pics below...

| EKITI: Hundreds of electorates queue to collect rice |
Personally, i believe that in partisan politics, politicians and political parties are supposed to approach the electorate with challenging idea, manifestos and with the intention to bring change to the state or country.
Normally, any free and fair election should show the assessment of what the people think and how people behave.

| Eat Rice and vote for me |
But the introduction of the politics of rice sharing in the Nigerian political system, it's hard to tell if the electorate voted based on inducement with money and most especially rice, to satisfy his/her immediate needs. Consequently the 'hungry electorate'is short-sighted, the victim (The electorate) worry about the immediate needs of having rice for breakfast, lunch or dinner, than to vote a leader who will build good roads, improve health care faciulities, build schools, hospitals, and improve the general standard of living.
Many Nigerians fail to take lessons from the past, how many times have you collected N500 and a small bad of rice, and have regrets for the next 4 years? (in most cases 8 years)
