News reaching us has it that Operatives of the Department of State Service, DSS, have released the Kogi State Deputy Governor-elect, James Faleke and Alhaji Muhammadu Audu, son to the late prince Abubakar Audu.
This was disclosed at about 5pm on Saturday by Duro Meseko, the Director of Media and Publicity of Audu/Faleke Campaign Organisation.
Operatives had at about 10am on Saturday in Abuja invited Faleke, Audu and subsequently detained them.
Maseko called on members and supporters of the
All Progressives Congress, APC, to remain calm and not to resort to any action that could jeopardise the existing peace in the state.
He gave the assurance that Faleke would continue to abide by the rule of law in its push to reclaim his mandate.
