News as PDP Founding Members Caused Defeat in 2015 Election – Wike

Latest political news reveal that the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, lost the 2015 general elections to the All Progressives Congress, APC, because some of the founding members of the party had hidden agenda which worked against the party’s plans. He noted that anyone who has the party at heart will be ready to make sacrifices for the sustenance of the party after the loss it suffered during the 2015 general election.
Wike said this at the Government House in Port Harcourt, the State capital, while addressing the national convention planning committee of the party, adding that only party members with
hidden agenda would work towards creating crisis in the party as dedicated members fight hard to re-position it.

He made it clear that, “Anybody who loves this party, knows that this is the time to make sacrifices. We are rebuilding this party and we need to work together in unity to succeed.”
Ebonyi State governor, Chief David Umahi, former governors of Ebonyi, Rivers and Niger states, Senator Sam Egwu, Sir Celestine Omehia and Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu, as well as former deputy speakers of the House of Representatives, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and Chief Austin Opara, among others, attended the meeting.
The governor lamented that most of the founding members holding press conferences here and there could not travel to their constituencies to campaign for the PDP, despite being adequately mobilised as recent events have shown.
“It is important that we work as a team as that is the only way for us to achieve set goals. Only those with hidden agenda, will work against the party.”
