On Wednesday, The Nation learnt that an
autopsy conducted on Mrs. Shonde at the Lagos State University Teaching
Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, said she died of “respiratory seizure.”
Meanwhile, the remains of the ex- banker
was yesterday buried at Atan cemetery, Yaba, amid tears by friends and
family members .
Sympathizers wailed uncontrollably while her body was being lowered into the grave.
Her body was conveyed to the cemetery in
a hired hearse which left the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital
morgue at about 2pm.
The burial which was kept secret, The Nation learnt was witnessed by only close family members and friends of the deceased.
It was learnt that a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) pastor conducted a brief sermon that lasted about five minutes.
The deceased’s relatives who expressed
their displeasure at the result of autopsy carried out on the deceased
demanded that justice be served on her alleged killer.
“Honestly, justice should be served
because her children have been deprived of the joy of having a mother.
But when they grow up and understand what deprived them of that joy,
they will be comforted that justice was done. I believe that this the
only thing that will soothe them in years to come,” said one of her
family members.
