Latest gist as A chieftain of the All
Progressives Congress ( APC ) in Ebonyi State, Comrade Chinedu Ogah has
denied himself from the allegation of his involvement in the destruction
of properties at Item Amagu Community in Ikwo Local Government Area of
Ebonyi State.
Ogah, who is the national coordinator of Buhari/ Osibanjo
Initiative for described as baseless, spurious and politically motivated
by his detractors.
He was reacting to the allegation by the family of late
Boniface Nweke announced through the Ebonyi State owned broadcasting
station,EBBC, that the
APC chieftain led a squad that destroyed
properties in the community.
News gathered while addressing newsmen at his Abakaliki residence, Ogah
pointed out that on the day of the incident, he was in company of the
state APC Chairman, Ben Nwobashi, some executives of the party including
at team of journalists at Ekpomaka Ward in Ikwo Local Government Area
of the state for a solidarity rally on behalf of President Muhammadu
Buhari’s administration.
The APC chieftain who regretted the level of blackmail
against him added that the allegation was a calculated attempt by his
enemies to tarnish his image using misinformation with an eye on the
2019 general election.
According to him, “I moved to APC from PDP and so many
persons have decamped to the APC because of me; nobody should use his
position to level unfounded allegation against me as I am not at war
with the present administration in the state.
“On the day of the incident, there was a rally we
organized in solidarity for President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration
and the APC Chairman in the state. The following morning I left for
Kaduna. I am not a ghost and I cannot be in two places at the same time.
“I cannot fight a community that has benefited from me in
the area of job creation, construction of Health Centers, churches and
road network. This is merely an attempt by some desperate politicians to
tarnish my image. As I am talking to you now,, the community leaders in
the area have condemned, and distanced themselves from the allegations
levelled against ,me”, he stated.
