This is latest gist on air as A little innocent girl whose nap was cut short, after a truck ran over the shop she was sleeping was left unhurt after the accident. According to Facebook user, Frank Wilson, the accident occurred at Okwudor Junction in Imo State.

 

Here’s what Frank wrote as he shared photos from the accident scene;

“this accident happend today at okwudor junction. and this baby is sleeping at that chizorba shop were this accident happend. the baby was found under the car but nothing happend to her. others got injured and was taking to the hospital but nothing happend to the baby #thankyoulord“

IMO: Police discover bombs in restaurant

The police in Owerri, the Imo State capital, averted yesterday a disaster, following the discovery of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) at Kilmanjaro Fast Food.

The bombs were reportedly planted by suspected terrorists.

The discovery, which threw the city into pandemonium, occurred about three months after an attempt was made to blow up the Winners Chapel, Owerri branch.

The incident was foiled by the police.

The explosives, which were hidden in air condition units at the lobby and the kitchen close to gigantic gas cylinders, were defused by the Bomb Disposal Unit of the Imo State Police Command, which sealed off the building.

Senators blast Okorocha for ID policy for northerners in Imo state

The Senate on Thursday condemned the proposed Imo State Government policy on the issuance of identification cards to northerners residing in the state as a way of preventing attacks by the Boko Haram insurgents.

The senators’ rage over the contemplated policy, was sequel to a motion moved against it by the Deputy Senate Leader, Abdul Ningi (PDP Bauchi Central), who quoted relevant sections of the 1999 Constitution, which the proposed policy contravenes.

Consequently the upper chamber called on President Goodluck Jonathan to direct the security agencies not to partner Imo State government in the implementation of the policy.

They also called on the state Governor, Rochas Okorocha, to stop the policy immediately.

Ningi’s motion was titled, “The Issuance of Identification Cards to northerners residing in Imo State – Urgent call for policy reversal.”

He noted with serious concern, the recent government policy statement issued by the state government , which directed all northerners residing or staying in the state to be issued with an identification card.
