Mikel’s father blasts CAF President - 'My son deserved to win the African Footballer of the year award'

Pa Michael Obi, father of Chelsea and Super Eagles star, Mikel, has blamed the President of the Confederation of African Football, Mr. Isa Hayatou, for the inability of his son to win the recently-held CAF/GLO African Footballer of the Year award.

The CAF/GLO African Footballer of the Year award went Cote d’Ivoire and Manchester city midfielder, Yahaya Toure, with Mikel and Cote d’Ivoire captain, Didier Drogba, coming second and third places respectively.

Mikel’s father said his friends from Jos and Lagos were anxiously waiting to call and congratulate him before the choice of Toure was announced.

Pa Obi, who spoke in an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Jos on Wednesday, alleged that the CAF president had always exhibited “a dislike” for footballers from the Anglophone countries.

He however said the family was not perturbed that Mikel did not get the award because of their firm belief in God, stressing that Mikel would get the award at God’s own appointed time.

Clarence Seedorf takes AC Milan coaching job

Former AC Milan midfielder and Dutch vetern, Clarence Seedorf has announced his retirement from his playing career to take up the vacant coaching job at San Siro.

Seedorf made more than 400 appearances in a stellar 10-year spell with Milan, during which he claimed two Serie A and two Champions League titles.

Allegri was relieved of his duties following Milan’s shock 4-3 defeat to Sassuolo on Sunday.

Ronaldo wins 2013 FIFA Ballon d'Or

Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the 2013 Ballon d'Or winner by FIFA ahead of Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery.

A bumper year for Ronaldo saw him scoop football's most prestigious individual award at FIFA's gala evening in Zurich. The Real Madrid winger was heavy favourite prior to the announcement on Monday, having scored 66 goals in 56 games for club and country throughout the year as well as sealing 2014 World Cup qualification for Portugal by scoring a brilliant hat-trick against Sweden in their play-off match.

The second best 2013 African Footballer of the Year, Mikel Obi is reportedly in love with a Russian lady. There are several reports suggesting that the Chelsea midfielder is in a relationship the pretty lady called Olga Diyachenko.

The second best player at the 2005 FIFA Under 20 tournament posted some pictures on his Instagram page. These photographs have fuelled the reported love affair with Olga.

From the pictures, Mikel seems to be fond of Olga as both showed excitements.

Some months ago, Mikel was reportedly in a relationship with Sandra Okachie, a former Delta Soap Queen. Sandra was reportedly harboured in Mikel’s home in London and it was then reported that they might end up as husband and wife. more pics below

Footballer Obafemi Martins Throws A Private Beach Party [PICTURES]

 

Few days ago Super Eagles player who also plays as a forward for Seattle Sounders FC, Obafemi Martins, hosted his friends and few celebrity friends which included Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus A.K.A 'Gbo gbo big galz', Africa pop prince Wizkid, and Goldenboy to a private beach party at Ilashe private beach in Lagos. Everyone seems to be having lots of groove going on at the party, the footballer seemed to end the year 2013 on a very good note.
