The measure is to enable the Force to review the current state of arms and ammunition in stock at various Police armouries.
A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, on Wednesday in Abuja, said the exercise, which has already commenced, would cover all police commands, formations, stations and units across the country.
Many Police stations’ armouries had been reportedly looted by hoodlums and militants, especially in the north-eastern part of the country, where insurgents are battling security forces with weapons believed to have been stolen from Police and military armouries.
