JTF promises peaceful elections in creeks

The Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Pulo Shield, has declared its readiness for hitch-free elections in 2015.

The outfit at the weekend allayed security concerns in the creeks of the oil-rich Niger Delta region, saying it would collaborate with other security agencies to ensure peaceful elections.

JTF Commander, Major-General Emmanuel Atewe, gave the assurance in Yenagoa when the new Air force Officer Commanding, the Mobility Command of the Nigerian Air force, Yenagoa, Air-Vice Marshall Umar Omeiza, visited him.


He said the JTF had intensified arrangement to provide security logistics and give the region a platform for peaceful elections next year.
