Murder suspect, Jeffrey Okafor to be extradited to the UK for the killing of rapper Carl Asiedu

The Federal Government is set to extradite Jeffrey Okafor to the UK to face the music for the murder 19 year old rapper, Carl Beatson Asiedu, in August 1, 2009. I reported that he was arrested on September 23 in Asaba, Delta State, five years after he fled the UK using his brother's passport.

A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu on Wednesday in Abuja, said the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, commended the Police Intelligence Operatives for the arrest of the suspect despite his frequent change of identity and location, Punch reports.

The statement read in part: 

"The Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, has commended Police Intelligence Operatives for the arrest of a wanted murder suspect in the United Kingdom, Jeffery Azuka Okafor, 23, who fled to Nigeria after the alleged murder of Carl Asiedu on August 1, 2009 in London.
"He was arrested on September 23, 2014 in Asaba, Delta State, after a diligent search."
