Latest News as Armed robbers reportedly kill two passengers along Benin-Ore road

It is reported that two passengers of Young Shall Grow Motors were reportedly killed by armed robbers during a robbery operation along the Benin-Ore road on Friday, July 7.

Corps Members Properties Cart Away as Robbers Invade NYSC Camp in Niger State

 
NYSC temporary orientation camp in Paikoro, Niger State, was on Monday invaded by hoodlums who carted away corps members properties.
According to reports, the robbers struck as early as 6am when the corps members were preparing to leave the camp to their place of primary assignment.

Robbers Has Raid Lagos Community, As 15 Injured

We got this latest news as residents of Ibukun Oluwa community, in the Oworonsoki area of Lagos State have been under continuous attacks by robbers, who invaded at least six streets and injured no fewer than 15 residents.
Punch Metro learnt that the robbers, who came in a large number, carted away money, laptops, handsets, and other valuables.
The robbers, who wielded guns and cutlasses, among others, raided Abiola, Ogunnoiki, Adesheke, Idera, Ogunyemi and Oduduwa streets.
It was learnt that Oduduwa, Abiola and Ogunyemi streets were raided on September 21; Idera was robbed on October 7 and 14; Ogunnoiki was invaded on October 14; and Adesheke was robbed on October 4 and 19.

Pastor, 3 others paraded over alleged bank robbery

The police in Lagos on Thursday paraded four suspected armed robbers, including a pastor, whose gang specialises in attacking banks.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Umar Manko, who paraded the suspects, also displayed 12 AK-47 rifles, two K2 rifles, 30 fully loaded AK-47 magazines and one pump action gun.

Other items displayed include one police Walkie-Talkie, one hammer, one iron cutter, eight gas cylinders and one ATM card destroyed by the suspects during operation.

Manko said that three other suspects, belonging to the gang were killed in gun battle with the police in different operations.

He noted that the gang had attacked the Access Bank Branch at Ayobo, near Lagos on Nov. 16, 2013, killing three police officers attached to the Ayobo Divisional Police Office, carting away their rifles.

The commissioner said the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) had an encounter with the gang on Nov. 20, 2013 at Ilasamaja, where two members of the gang were “fatally wounded and arms were recovered.

‘I don’t steal, I only give robbers information’


Egbuzobi.
A 28-year-old man, Nonso Egbuzobi, who was recently arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad during a robbery operation in Lagos State, has pleaded with the police to release him, saying he was just an informant and not a member of any robbery gang.

Police authorities had said Egbuzobi and three others were part of a gang that killed three policemen during an ATM robbery at an Access Bank branch in Ayobo, Ipaja area of the state on November 20, 2013.

It was learnt that after the Ipaja robbery, SARS men led by the officer in charge, SP Abba Kyari, commenced investigations.

It was learnt that the suspect was arrested with one Ak-47 rifle while attempting to rob a house at the Ilasamaja area of the state.

He said, “Some weeks ago, I was at a snooker joint around Lagos State University when a man approached me saying he had a target that we could rob at Ilasamaja. I told him I was not a robber, but I knew people who were capable.

“I approached one armed robber known as Fine money and I connected him with the person that gave me information. On December 4, 2013, Fine money picked me up in a jeep around Mile 2 and I led him and two other guys to the house at Ilasamaja. We were told that the victim had N10m in his house.

“They all had guns, but I decided that I would remain in the car. However, before they could come down, policemen started shooting at us and everyone in the vehicle died except me because I hid on the floor of
