Ex-militants Ask FG To Probe Past NDDC Board

This is latest news reaching us on our news desk as A group of former Niger Delta militants have threatened to go back to the creeks if the Federal Government failed to probe the past Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission.

The former fighters, who are currently students of King Amachree African University in Benin Republic, said they were ready to arm themselves with guns if funds approved by ex-President Goodluck Jonathan for Niger Delta youths’ empowerment were not released for the purposes they were meant for.

Iran offers nuclear technology to Nigeria

Iranian firms specialising in nuclear technology are prepared to offer Nigeria their expertise to help boost electricity supply in the country, the Iranian ambassador to Nigeria, Saeed Koozechi, said Wednesday.
“We (Iran) are using our nuclear programme to improve the power, health and agriculture sectors in the country,’’ Mr. Koozechi said on Wednesday in Abuja.
The envoy, who invited Nigeria to participate in an international exhibition on power scheduled to hold in Tehran, in November, said Iran also had invaluable experience in constructing power plants and transmission lines for electricity supply.
