News Has It That Three Million Nigerians Is Illegally living In UK – Senate

Latest news has it that the Nigerian Senate on Thursday said no fewer than three million Nigerians are currently living illegally in the United Kingdom and that its investigation had shown that the British government had no plan to deport 29, 000 Nigerians by the British government as reported recently.

Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, stated this after a meeting with officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service at the National Assembly.

US, UK ignore Obasanjo’s controversial letter to Jonathan


United States and the United Kingdom have maintained sealed lips on the letter from former President Olusegun Obasanjo to President Goodluck Jonathan.

In the letter which has been a major subject in the political scene, Obasanjo accused Jonathan of training a killer squad.

He also accused him of promoting ethnic agenda, embarking on political vendetta by putting 1,000 politicians on his watch list and not showing enough commitment to the fight against corruption.

Nigerians don’t need dollar account for visa - UK


The British High Commission has said it is not compulsory for Nigerians to own a dollar account in order to pay for a UK visa.

They said this in a statement by their Communications Manager, Mr. Wale Adebajo, on Tuesday.
The high commission said, “The British High Commission would like to clarify the issue of on-line visa payments, which has recently been the subject of news reports.

“Earlier this month, the UK introduced compulsory on-line payments for visas and announced that the cost of those visas would be denominated in US dollars. This is purely an accounting measure.

“As before, Nigerians with a Naira credit or debit card can pay for visas using their Naira account.

Although the visa fee will be denominated in dollars, the payment will be deducted from their account in Naira. There is no
